DEUTSCHE POST on 5 May 1995 issued the series: Europe - Peace and Freedom --Soldiers (1945) marking the 50 anniversary on the end of WWII. A total of 29,000,000 stamps were printed, of which 350,000 were first day cover releases. The cancellation postmark on this FDC originated from Berlin.
