ÖSTERRREICH POST issued on 3 November 1977 a First Day Cover (FDC) commemorating martyrs of World War II. The cover featured a 2.50 Austrian Schilling stamp showing a figure holding the Austrian flag and pushing away a barbed wire fence, postmarked in Vienna. It included a special cachet design titled "Zu Ehren der Opfer für die Freiheit Österreichs" (In Honour of the Victims for the Freedom of Austria).
