Nippon Post Scenic Kyoto Postal Maximcards

NIPPON POST on 6 May 2024 issued two First Day Cover stamps of geisha in the scenic areas of the Kyoto Chuo Post Office and Kyoto Gion Post Office. These maxicards were specially issued from these respective post offices.

The Gion postmark cancellation over the stamp with dancers amidst cherry blossoms depicts the five-story pagoda of Toji Temple, a maiko, and Mt. Daimonji. This scenic postmark has been in use since 1954.
