POS MALAYSIA on 26 April 2014 issued a special commemorative First Day Cover of President Barack Obama's Visit to Malaysia in April 2014. This particular cover is rare in that it has three cancellation postmarks: one shows special franking used for the occasion, plus one franking from the Central Kuala Lumpur Post Office and the other from Putrajaya. The cover itself depicts then U.S President Barack Obama and then Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak. The stamp facsimile is a commemorative issue of Perdana Putra in Putrajaya.
Personally, I consider this cover a novelty and one that may in decades to come appreciate in value. Why? One, the last visit by an American President to Malaysia was that of President Lyndon Johnson in 1966 -- a lapse of 44 years; and two, Prime Minister Mohammad Najib was eventually imprisoned for his part in the scandal involving the state investment firm 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
