PHILATELIC BUREAU OF THE SRI LANKA DEPARTMENT OF POSTS issued in 1973 a set of First Day Cover stamps commemorating the "Rock & Temple Paintings of Sri Lanka". The stamps depicted ancient frescoes from Sigiriya, dating back to the 5th century. Postmark originated from Colombo, Sri Lanka.
