TÜRKIYE CUMHURIYETI POSTALARI (Postal Service of the Republic of Turkey) issued on 28 June 1963 a set of stamps commemorating the 600th anniversary of the Turkish Army (Kara Ordusunun 600. Yılı). The stamps depicted the Ottoman-era janissary origins of the force. The set shown here includes 50 Kuruş and 100 Kuruş denominations.
