The ASEAN logo of seven brown sheaves of rice stalks, one for each founding members is presented in the background of these colourful stamps. The stamps depict the peoples, flowers and landmarks of ASEAN, which at the time included Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand; ASEAN has since grown to include Kampuchea (Cambodia), Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. The postmark cancellation on the cover shown here originated from Kuala Lumpur, although Labuan and Melaka were additional locations.
