UNITED NATIONS POSTAL ADMINISTRATION issued on 5 September 1995 a set of six First Day Cover stamps dedicated to the Fourth World Conference on Women, which was held in Beijing, China. The UN issued a set of six stamps on September 5, 1995, designed by Ding Shaoguang.
The conference produced the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a key global policy document on gender equality and women's empowerment.
The Platform for Action identified 12 critical areas of concern, including women and poverty, education, health, violence against women, and women in power and decision-making.
The conference was a significant event in the history of the global women's rights movement.
