MALAYSIA POST and NIPPON POST cachet covers of the first Japan Air Lines (JAL) flight between Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur took place on 8 May and 9 May 1967, respectively.
Each cover featured three stamps. Malaysian postage included commemorative stamps of the then-new National Monument (1966), the Crested Wood Partridge (1965) and a definitive stamp of the Selangor state Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. Japanese postage included the Buddhist temple complex Shari-den of Engakuji (1962), Amakusa bridge (1966) and Kuroda Seiki painting of his wife (1967).
