LA POSTE FRANCE on 7 March 1981 issued a series of First Day Cover stamp of Spanish artist Francisco de Goya's painting “The Love Letter”. First day cancellation originated in Aubiere with a special cancellation. It carried a face value of1 f 40 + 30 c. Engraver/designer was Claude Durrens. An Intaglio printing method was used to print 4,500,000 stamps. Affixed to this maxim card is that stamp.
