DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST on 9 April 1991 issued a First Day Cover stamp marking the Historical Airmail Transport using airplanes and airships to deliver mail which at the time was a decisive advance dispatching mail. With technical developments, it became possible to transport mail over greater distances within hours. The map shows the airship LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin together with the flying boat Do X. Postmark cancellation originated from Friedrichshafen.
