Postcard of San Francisco Cable Cars - 1940s

Antique linen postcard of San Francisco cable cars, circa 1930s-1940s. This was gifted to me when I purchased a First Day Cover from a stamp dealer.

Caption on reverse side of postcard states:
Looking down California Street toward Market, San Francisco, Calif. A San Francisco cable car ride is an experience! You sit on long seats facing the sidewalks and as you begin to climb impossible hills, the city seems to coast down upon you. You scale one height to find another before you, but finally arrive atop Nob Hill, location of the homes of early California millionaires. Today it is the location of Grace Cathedral, numerous magnificent apartment houses, exclusive clubs and famous hotels.

Publisher/Printer:
The postcard was published by the Stanley A. Piltz Company in San Francisco, California.

Date Issued: 1930-1955
