Grossdeutsches Reich "Mutter und Kind"

GROSSDEUTSCHES REICH issued in 1944 four German postage stamps to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the "Mutter und Kind" (Mother and Child) charity, a welfare organisation established during the Nazi era. The "Mutter und Kind" charity was part of the Nazi regime's broader social policies aimed at promoting the "Volksgemeinschaft" (people's community) and encouraging childbirth within the framework of Nazi racial ideology.

These stamps were part of the "10 Jahre Hilfswerk Mutter und Kind" commemorative series, depicting scenes related to motherhood and child care. Each stamp on this cover carried a circular postmark from Tamseg (Austria) dated "-4.1V.44--", indicating 1st April 1944.

Affixed on the reverse side of this envelope is a single 1944 postage stamp featuring Adolf Hitler and Third Reich flag with an eagle emblem. This stamp was issued to commemorate the 10th anniversary (1934-1944) of Hitler and the Nazi Party's assumption of power in Germany.
