Isle of Man Post 50th Anniversary of the First Manned Flight to the Moon

 

ISLE OF MAN POST  presented a landmark issue in 2019 to mark the 50th anniversary year of the first manned flight to land on the Moon.

The beauty of space is captured perfectly with this wonderful First Day Cover which commemorates the anniversary of the Moon landing, and also all the missions that led up to that 'One Small Step'.  The issue text was written by George Abbey who worked with NASA during the Apollo missions and was director of the Johnson Space Center during the NASA Shuttle - Mir Program.

All eight stamps are cancelled with a unique postmark for the first day of issue.
