NAURU POST in 1978 and 1980 issued First Day Cover stamps and maxi cards depicting the artwork of David Gentleman. Shown her is the "Head of a Nauruan Girl" (1978) and "Girl with Fish" (1980).
David Gentleman is an English artist. He studied illustration at the Royal College. He has worked in watercolour, lithography and wood engraving. His themes include paintings of landscape and environmental posters to drawings of street life and protest placards. He has written and illustrated many books, mostly about countries and cities. He also designed a number of British commemorative postage stamps, as well as these postage stamps for Nauru Post.
