POS MALAYSIA in 1999 issued a series of First Day Cover stamps and mini
sheetlets to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Taiping. The town, located in northern Perak, is noted for its British colonial landmarks, tin mining history and lake garden. From 1876 till 1934 it was the capital of Perak.
An explanatory leaflet details the history and landmarks depicted on the stamps.
