DER DEUTSCHEN BUNDESPOST (former West Germany) in 1988 issued a series of First Day Cover stamps on The Crown Jewels of Charlemagne. These special stamps were part of the series "For the welfare", which are postmarked with surcharges in favour of the "Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Freie Wohlfahrtspflege eV".
